LIVERPOOL STREET CLEANING

Bin collections and street cleaning are to be taken over by Liverpool Council wholly in the next 12 months. In the last eight years, public-facing roles like emptying litter bins and carrying out burials have all been delivered by the council-owned subsidiary company, Liverpool Streetscene Services Ltd (LSSL).

SPRING CLEAN LAUNCH

Liverpool City Council is rolling out a £4.6m investment boost to improve cleanliness around the city. The new funding has already translated into the recruitment of 18 new streetscene staff to focus on litter hot spots – with more staff to be hired to target enforcement on issues such as flytipping.
